About Us

In 2017, Van Lissick Enterprise, LLC consulting firm was established. VLE Owner and President Roderick T. Nicholson has over 40 years of experience in transportation, water resources, environmental, and administration. Mr. Nicholson received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a dual specialty in Environmental and Transportation Engineering.

Owner and President

VLE Owner and President Roderick T. Nicholson has over 40 years of experience in transportation, water resources, environmental, and administration. Prior to his retirement and the establishment of Van Lissick Enterprise, Rod worked for more almost 25 years with the Jackson, MS Airports District Office of the Federal Aviation Administration.

For more than 10 years, he served as Mayor of Terry, MS (a small town about 15 miles due south of the state capitol of Jackson, MS). While serving as Mayor, he also shepherded major infrastructure developments which included the construction of a new, award-winning City Hall building, a new municipal library, a new fire station/public works building and much more.

Rod Nicholson is also a published author. His book is entitled, “The First Black Mayor of Terry, MS – A Memoir” and is available here!
